I had my 4wd go out two times. First time it was a vac leak. The following time it was a solenoid for the 4wd system. Since I replaced that it has worked like a charm!

I looked and I dont see vacuum lines going down to my hubs anywhere...

If you have ESOF they have to be there. The following pic shows the solenoid, vaccum pump and vacuum tank that are located on the right side fender in plain sight. If you don't have a solenoid then you don't have ESOF.

Also, do your hubs say Lock and Auto or Lock and Free?

Then you should have the solenoid pictured above. The solenoid is what supplies the vacuum to the hubs to engage and disengage. Follow the vacuum line done. It should tee under the vehicle a then go to each hub.
