Mountaineer Shifting problem
My friend has a 99 Mountaineer which suddenly doesn't want to shift right. ABS light's on and it works in 2nd and reverse. She said she got into in the morning and when she started it that's what she got. No problems the night before.
She put a rebuilt trans in it about 5000 miles ago.
I've done some searches looking for electrical ideas but have come up short. I had a 95 powerstroke F250 that did something similar when the rearview mirror fell off while I was driving. I reached over and unplugged the backlight connector and my truck shifted down - blew a fuse. I'm thinking it might be something as simple as that.
Any ideas would be appreciated.
