coolant filter for gasser

I had a coolant filter on my recently wrecked (yes bridges and overpasses do freeze before the roadway) 2006 F350. I recently ordered a 2011 F350 with the 6.2 liter gas engine. Would a coolant filter be advisable on this truck? Thanks, John
