The only thing is make shure it is a sediment filter. A lot of the filters are chemical filters which will put back the SCA's that caused the problem in the first place.
You can tell a chemical filter it has a pin hole in the center. It will also rattle a little if you shake it.
I actually made my own kit. Bought a filter base and couple brass t's and some 3/8" coolant hose and plumbed it in. I think there are some instructions if you Google it. The only thing you have to fab is the filter base mount.
yes coolant filters are great, easy to install, fairly cheap, I run the sinister coolant bypass filter kit. you can get replacement filters almost anywhere. after you install in, run it for a while and cut it open, see how much junk you catch.
If you decide to go this route, I did, make sure you lube the filter's o-ring. The most complaints I've seen about coolant filters is getting the old one off.
I went with a sinister diesel kit. after 4 coolant drain and refills i then installed the filter.
500 miles later i changed the filter and cut the old one open, you wouldnt believe what was left in the cooling system after those hot flushes and refills. worth the money and time for sure.

Who makes those? I've never seen that type of filter.
