If you have the stock VCs the driver side should have the sticker with serial number and engine build date.
thanks robin i tried to read that decal even with a mirror i coulndt see it all thought i would ask before movin the tube out of the way. i didnt see any numbers onthe block im gonna look agian and move the tube now.

I had to use a wire brush to reveal the S/N on the block.
Here's a pic of S/N running vertically on block with VC sticker superimposed.
You will also find the last 8 digits of the vin number running horizontally.
This isn't for a truck whose VIN begins with a "3", is it? The engines for those trucks were made in Brazil, and have a different range of numbers assigned to them.

no sir pop it begins with a 1 . my engine # is783810 // i was trying to figure out if the epv rebuild kit i got fro clay will fit i have the hourglass shaped pedestal and i was reading that it might not fit. thanks guys wes
