Brake controllers

Is there really any difference in brake controller manufactures. I know that there are two different types but does anyone have any thoughts or experiences.

I do believe the populous goes for the Prodigy....if you have electric over hydraulics, you'll need the P3.

Howdy...Brake controllers are like cb radios, televisions, or any other thing....Jusy buy one that is designed for your application....in other words you get what you pay for...I have used $25.00 brake controllers vs. the high dollar brake controllers and they worked just fine...it is just a matter of what design and bells and whistles and the way you drive makes the diff...I've never found one to be any better than any other as long as you use the correct one for your application...Hell for that matter you could if you were all electric trailer brakes make your own...Just by a rheastat with a slider or turning ****, hook up power and ground, mount it where you can reach the **** and turn it up when you need brakes to the trailer....catch my drift...they are simple things that work...but of course...I use a Tekonsha Voyager for my 2 axle 5ver...LOL

I installed a Tekonsha P3 on my '03 F350 pulling a 35' 5er. Seems to work fine.

That's why they have a rod that you lock the tongue for when you back up.
