AC help!

Hello all. I am new to this site and PSD's. I bought a 2005 F350 6.0 4x4 CC less than two months ago with 73000 miles currently has 76000. I bought it for traveling, pulling a 5th wheel, and general pick up use. When I bought it, the AC was working but it would not blow air out of the main front vents, only through the dash where the defrost comes out. The dealer I bought it from (out of state) said it was either a vacuum leak to a device that controls the direction of the air flow or the actual device itself. They promised to pay the bill once I got the truck home since I didn't want to stay over night and have them try to fix it the next day. Well luckily they did pay the tab once I got it home and a local dealership said that they ended up replacing the actual device that controls the direction of the air travel. That was less than two months ago and just today the AC will not turn on at all. Actually nothing turns on, AC, heater, doesn't display exterior temp, NOTHING! The digital display where it shows the ext temp and AC status wont turn on. I think it's gotta be something simple like a fuse but I'm no AC expert at all. Do you all think the dealer that repaired the AC recently maybe screwed something up? Any suggestions or ideas are greatly appreciated!

Rick

I don't see how he could have messed it up. Check the fuses uinder the steering column. The front cover panel should just pull off - then you should see the fuse box..

Welcome to FTE maistroyoda I am not all that familiar with the Electronic Climate Control since mine is manual. The guys will chime in that have experienced this before. I think either the unit or Gem module needs to be reset or replaced. You can turn the headlights on and off 3 times and that will reset the module, I think

A better explanation will come from the crowd, just hang on.

Ok thanks guys I'll try those things shortly. The only reason why I suspected the dealer is because it seemed like too much of a coincidence to have two issues with the AC within such a short period of time.

As the time has been so short since the A/C work, I would contact the people that did the repair and give them a chance to at least tell you if it is or isn't their problem.

Ok I tried the headlight thing and it seems to have worked. The climate control display is now working along with the AC and everything else. HOWEVER, now it's kind of doing the same thing as when I first bought it. When I first turn on the AC it will shoot out from either the defrost side, to the feet, sometimes the front vents (where it should) or a combination of any of the above. I decided to take it back to ford since it's only been about a month and a half since they repaired it. The service man said it could be a vacuum leak as stated in the original post and should be covered by their repair warranty. Hopefully they'll fix it right this time.
