I got a 5-D cell Maglite for my truck and I was wondering if anyone knew where to get like a holster or something for it so it wouldnt roll around behind the seat or under the seat?
Mag-Lite makes mounting clips for just such an occasion. I have seen them at Wal-Mart and most Sporting Goods stores carry them too. You can also get them with the D-Cell Accessory Kit (pictured). If you want one online just do a quick search for
" maglite accessory ".
Might want to try something else to hold down the dreaded maglight. I had that clip set once.... I worked about twice and then the clips broke. No extreme temeratures or anything either... So mine continues to roll around behind the seat. May try the PVC idea tho... that has potential. Later BTV
I think i own the only 3 C-Cell maglite in the world. When i wanted to mount it in my '88 F-150 i went to home depot(ever notice the most fun part of going there isn't finding exactly what you need but finding other stuff you can modify to suit other needs?) Anyway it turns out that the outside diameter of my maglite is exactly 1.5 inches, i found this piece of grey PVC like material taht looks like it was meant to connect two piece of flexible hose. It aparently has an inside diameter of 1.501 inches. Fits like a glove. I then found a set of brackets that fit into the grooves of the PVC piece. Painted it black, screwed it into the dash to the left of the glove box under the vent. It was perfect! makes me wish i could do it in my 94 alas there's no space for it.
I own a 2-cell AA, a 3-cell D, and a 4-cell D, I would love to mount my 4 cell in the van, as it is a great source of light and can be usefull when dealing with the cranky kids.
