engine stand

ok guys, so i bought a 1000lb engine stand a few months back in anticipation of doing my 351. i recently decided to go to the strait 6. i picked one up this weekend and tonight when i went to put it on the stand its WAY to front heavy. i may add a support to the stand and just flat weld the thing together instead of it being able to be disassembled. im just curious what every one on here has done.

For what its worth, my brother had his Jeep 4.0 I6 on his engine stand for quite a while. They're roughly the same size. He did say he was nervous about that very thing though, but never had any problems.

It probably doesn't need it, but I know that if I were to be working on mine, especially if it had the head and stuff on it, I'd feel the need to brace it a little bit.
