This is what a push pin looks like:
I purchase them at the auto parts store for a few dollars for a box of a dozen or so.
those clips WILL be busted, no way around it i have taken the door panels off for one reason or another on every vehicle i own and you will break them, i promise either use double sided tape in place of them when you put the panel back on or go get new ones from the parts store
Okay. I have a '95 crew XLT package and I am trying to get the door panels off the rear doors. I removed the screws from the bottom of the door panel. I removed the screw from the arm rest. I popped a couple of the push pins toward the bottom of the door. There must be some screws that I am missing. Maybe under the vinyl trim towards the top of the panel? I have to be missing something. I am applying way too much pressure and no luck. Does the bezel for the power windows pop off or does it come off with the door panel? My first ford. Thanks for the help.
Make sure you get the screw that is above the speaker/below the vent window. When the door is closed it will be hidden behind the dash.
Once you have the screws out, you can pull the pins out by pulling the panel slightly away from the door, once all the pins are out, pull the panel up and off of the lip that fits over the opening for the window.
I finally got the panel off. This might help someone in the future. THE POWER WINDOW SWITCH WILL NOT COME OFF FROM OUTSIDE THE DOOR PANEL and does not need to be removed to get the panel off. Once the plastic pins are pulled out of the door, there will be enough room to reach in behind the door panel and unplug the electrical conntector from the switch. It's also easier to remove the door handle screw from behind the door panel with a 1/4" drive ratchet and long extension. The belt weather stripping on the inside of the door stays on the door. Just lift the panel straight up and away from the door.
