Tim Hortons

Am I the only one who gets frustrated at Tim Hortons?

Here's this morning's exchange:

* * * * * * * *

Me: Hi, I'd like a maple pecan Danish, an extra-large English Toffee to go, and...
Her: Maple pecan?
Me: Yes, a maple pecan Danish.
Her: Large coffee?
Me: No, an extra-large English Toffee coffee.
Her: Extra large coffee?
Me: Extra large English Toffee coffee.
Her: Extra large English Toffee coffee.
Me: Yes.
Her: To go?
Me: Yes.
Her: $3.65.
Me: How much are the cookies? (they're not on the board)
Her: (turns around to look at the board) Oh, just a minute. (enters a cookie in the till) .89 each.
Me: Is there a price break for 6 cookies?
Her: 6 cookies?
Me: Yes.
Her: .89 each.
Me: Okay, I'll take 6 white chocolate macadamia cookies.
Her: Chocolate?
Me: White chocolate macadamia.
Her: Chocolate chip?
Me: White chocolate macadamia.
Her: White chocolate macadamia?
Me: Yes.
Her: (puts one in the bag) What else?
Me: All of them the same.
Her: You want all 6 white choco...
Me: Yes.
Her: $x.xx please (I can't remember the amount).
Me: (gives her the exact amount)
Her: (counts it, looks confused, counts it again, counts it again and realizes she doesn't have to give me change)

* * * * * * * *

Now, can you imagine if we provided trail directions in the same fashion?

Rider: Can you tell me how to get to the viewpoint?
Me: The gravel pit?
Rider: No, the view point.
Me: The hill climb?
Rider: NO, the V I E W P O I N T.
Me: The view point?
Rider: YES, THE VIEW POINT.
Me: It's just past the gravel pit.

hahaha

Flatdeck: have a heart for the poor girl she's earning minimum wage! In the old days, a guy would come in an ask for a coffee and doughnut. Now you want a maple leaf brazil nut Viking Danish, a special volume deal on chocky cookies with macadamia nuts from Jamaica and an extra large coffee nick named a toffee? I couldn't remember all that or punch it in correctly either!
Next time, skip Tim Horton's (coffee is mediocre), find some "Mom & Pop" and have a really good sit down breakfast special - you know, eggs, bacon, hash browns and black coffee for $4.99. It's better for you than all that sugar and the coffee refill is free. Leave a tip if it's good (it will be).
Cheers!

I like Tim Horton's coffee. But they have idiots working there. I go there for 3 things only. Coffee, Canadian Maple donut, or a ham and swiss on white. Short and sweet. But you get some guy ahead of you ordering the office coffee run with specific donuts and soups, grrrrrr. Please, not at the drive thru.

We get drivers or office staff to go out and get ours. (Mine and 2 other mechanics.) Last time a driver went out, I asked for a large with 2 creams. He came back with a small, and 4 creamers on the side. Just isn't the same. He said he got pissed off with the worker who couldn't figure out the 2 double doubles, and one with 2 creams, so he got the same for everybody. Small blacks, bunch of creamers, bunch of sugar packets. I tell ya, a guy has to be real patient with restaurant workers nowadays.

The ones I love are when they ask "to stay or to go?"

My reply is "Yes" So then I say what you really want to know is am I going to have it here or eat it here?" They are going to get a yes to one of them! I usually get a blank look. The trouble is now a days these places are training grounds for some of them to go onto better positions. Which most of them aren't ready for.

Too funny, here I am complaining about Tim Hortons, and the Google ad at the top of the page wants me to start a Tim Hortons franchise.
