What color to paint camper shell on 2 tone paint scheme?

May seem like a no-brainer but....

I have a '94 F150, Supercab that is two-tone, forest green (NA) over medium calypso green (PL).

I'm picking up a camper shell that currently is maroon. I absolutely LOVE the lighter green (PL) and am thinking about painting the camper shell that color. I know that "convention" would have me paint it the darker green, as that is what is on the upper parts of the body.

So I'm asking for opinions...how goofy will my rig look with a medium calypso green shell?

Don't flame me about liking that color....I've painted 3 of my motorcycles that color and the ladies love it. I've always had a green vehicle and can tell you that the "unlucky" thing is BS too!!

Thanks!

JMHO, but the cap has to be the same color as the bed and cab that it is touching

Yeah, DB, that's what I would call "conventional wisdom".

The upper part of the bed and cab are the forest green (NA) color and below them is the wide stripe of MCG (PL). Given my choice, I'd paint the whole truck PL, but that's way down the road.

I think it should be the same color as the top of the bed and cab.

Many Broncos had the cap the same color as the other two tone, but I don't think it would look as good on your truck.

With you 100% on this..

I would think if I painted my topper silver it would make my pickup look retarded.

Thanks guys, you've convinced me. I'll stick with conventional wisdom and paint it the same as the upper portion of the bed and cab.

I thought about that too, and couldn't see my truck having a silver camper/topper. I've been watching for a cheap or free one for my truck. I think it would come in handy. I hope to find a black one.

When I got my pickup it had it on. I thought about taking it off, so I did. Pickup looked funny as hell. So I put it back on for good.

why not paint it the darker color, then paint the area down through the windows the lighter color? would be different, and probably look sharp. play around with it on the computer.
