i just bought a 97 F250 4x4 7.3 my first diesel although i am not new at all to the diesel world. i helped a buddy build a 99 7.3 and an 05 6.0 and i finally found a deal on a 7.3. i love 7.3s and i know there is a difference between 99 and 97 7.3s i already bought the napa air filter and now im lookin into gettin a chip. we had a ts performance on the 99 7.3 and i loved it. but what im wondering is there a chip for the 97 7.3 that will also make transmissions shifts firmer and etc? i want a chip with lots of power since i am building this truck up for towing and truck pulling..also was wondering if anyone knew about the whereabouts of getting a banks impeller for the turbo?? any suggests would be appreciated
You realy need to call and talk to them and they will help you chose what you need for what you plan on doing with the truck. More money the better isn't alway's true
ive had a ton of different tunes, if i could id love to have more of beans tunes or even matts again. i had tony wildmans for a while and i felt it could have been better, i got a screaming deal on a dpf5 tuner with DP tunes obviously and i love the power roll and it stays pretty cool on the EGT factor.
ive ridden in a friends 01 superduty with php and i was very impressed with its power! awesome pull the whole rpm range and smoke cleaned up real nice.
from what i heard BTS has some of the best tunes out there but im sure hes a little more money. heard rave results with there programming, also like i said beans is pretty sweet too.
you do not need the banks impeller, its basiclly the exact same wheel that you have in there now only for superduty trucks becuase there impellor allows the truck to turbo surge, that wheel takes care of it. its a good wheel if you need a replacement but otherwise its the same wheel as stock.
im thinking im gonna get the php. i want my truck to roll some coal tho haha. any idea of how to get a little more boost out of these trucks without buyin a new turbo? gettin ahold of a 6.0 intercooler tomorrow

You will prob be able to see around 25lb with tunes and even more with bigger sticks
Mine would burry my 35lb gauge like it was nothing with stage 2s and stock turbo and HPOP
i was thinkin of stage 2s now that im gettin the 6.0 ic. how much did yall pay for the 6637 intake? i have one kinda dirty and was thinking of replacing
Start saving for a trans if you're going with stage 2s and planning on truck pulling. BTS is the best you can buy. You can have cale at bts tune it if you go with a trans from them. I would wait on the tuning unless its a ways down the road before you get the stage 2s plus you will probably need an upgraded hpop and maybe electric fuel and a bigger turbo
