Spare tire lock

Had my 2001 f250 for about 6 years.Never had to use the spare so today was going to see if it would lower. Found out it had a lock on it and I don't have the key for it bought the truck used.Went to two ford dealerships and they said nothing they could do. Anyone got any suggestions?

my dads 08 came with no spare or tool kit, got a tool kit and a spare but to remove the lock we pryed off the plastic tube that guides the crank and popped off the lock then the regular crank works to lower the tire. I believe it is possible to lower the tire without removing the lock but its a hassle, try doing a search in this forum or on the internet for more info, thats how we found out how to get his winch down

do like bboy says. its fairly easy. reach behnd the bumper and pull the plastc tube off. the "keyed" part out wth pliers. re-install and the end of the jack tool fits in the hole behind the keyed" part.
