I have 4 wheel disk and couldn't get a good pedal. I didn't have the e-brake hooked up cause i didn't have room in the cab for the e-brake handle with my leg. The rear calipers had the e-brake built in . If you don't hook this up you will not get brakes. So what i had to do is buy 79 Malibu front calibers and put them on the rear. I GOT BRAKES !!!!!! WOOOOHOOOO !!!!!!!
you still don't think you will need an emergency break??? Just trying to get inside your mind since I am still at the beginning stages of mine.
Thats funny Casper. I live in fl. and there are no hills around here so i think i'll be OK. I had to remove the e-brake handle to make room for my wooden leg.
I just got my truck a month ago and the E cable was disconnected and tucked on top of the frame. I have original breaks cylinder for now. Do you think I should try to connect them?? The original breaks stop o.k and has no leaks. I know once I put new master cylinder in I will have no worries like you.
Good to hear your brakes work well. If you ever want to rig up your parking brakes, you can always put one of the "umberella handle" parking brake setups over toward the passenger side, or use an Orscheln parking lever from a commercial truck or fork lift. You can put one of those just about anywhere.
