Beatles would have been another guess, but they only had 71 total. Not likely they would be from 6 albums.
The following was quite the achievement though, and IMO, puts the odds back in their favor.
The Beatles had 31 charting Hot 100 singles in 1964, the record for any artist in one calendar year.
I don't know how many albums they had out by 64', but I found this.
Please Please Me (1963)
With The Beatles (1963)
Introducing The Beatles (1964)
Meet The Beatles! (1964)
The Beatles' Second Album (1964)
A Hard Day's Night (1964)
Something New (1964)
Beatles '65 (1964)
A Hard Day's Night (1964)
Beatles for Sale (1964)
The Early Beatles (1965)
Beatles VI (1965)
Soundtack To The Film Help! (1965)

Geeze, I hope it is not the cast of Glee. Lots of albums, lots of hits, and I have never heard even one. But they are all over the charts.
I saw that too. "Glee" doesn't sound very rock and roll. This happy pop music crap sucks, and does nothing to prepare kids for the suffering of adulthood.
Zeppelin. 29MAR75 They had six albums out at the time. ALL of them were charted.
Only time it's ever happened.
But it was on the Billboard Top 200 Albums list.
Pop
We have a winner! It was the Zep, good pull Pop, the key was that the songs from the 6 different albums were on the billboard chart all at the same time. Many groups had songs hit the charts from many different albums, but 6 albums at once... It says a lot about the staying power and longevity of Led Zep songs!!!!
:-) Great band. Huge fan of AC/DC too. Loved seeing Brian Johnson on Top Gear recently.
Also worth mentioning:
Correct me if I'm wrong, I don't know how many 'top list' albums they had at the same time, but I want to say that Metallica has been touring since they were formed in 1981, 30 years ago, I believe making them the longest continuously touring band of all time. (without break ups or coming out of retirement, but still working around little things like you know... rehab...)
"Metallica has released nine studio albums, three live albums, five extended plays, 24 music videos, and 45 singles. ....... five consecutive albums debut at number one on the Billboard 200,[3] making Metallica the first band to do so..." - Wikapedia
I figured you guys would appreciate that these guys had the common decency to be a little angry from time to time.
I even have a music trivia riddle for you guys.
Question: How many Emo kids does it take to screw in a light bulb?
Answer: None. They sit in the dark and cry about it.

i liked bon scott better than brian johnson, bon's voice fit the band alot better. and ac/dc's musical format and the sound has changed slightly over the years.
i think the best slide guitarist is rod "the bottle" price of foghat. man that guy could make a guitar sing. i never did like the beatles or the doors. but rod and dave were a big influence on me as far as guitar playing. and so has angus young and his brother malcom. and man did i screw up and not staying with it and turning wrenches instead.
i could've been a contender. damn it!
