The dome light in my 95 F150 is dim and I think it is because the cover is old and yellowed. I was wondering if there was any way to scrub the yellow off without damage to the cover. If not where could I purchase a new one. Thanks
I assume you have the old chrome dome lamp, right? Look in this album at the newer style lamps I've collected at junkyards. They fit all '80-96 fs trucks with NO mods and their lenses don't fog & yellow like yours. Since they were used in a wide variety of Ford products, they're easy to find in almost any color, and cheap.
Steve, is that grey dome light for sale? If so, how much? I haven't been able to find a grey one in the area I live in. Also, online all I have found is black. Thanks for your time!
No, at the moment all I have are black, tan, & chrome. I think I traded the grey one to the guy in the blue Bronco in the "Broncofest" albums in my sig link. I'm sure I can get another grey one, though.
you might find one that will work at Napa,or the dealer can order you one.i cant remember for sure how much it was gona be at the dealer for my 93,i wana say it was $4-$7.something you could try on your old one,get sevearal denture tablets put in a small bowl of warm water with your light cover,if the yellowing is from nicotine and dirt it should at least help some.
All the parts in this album are for sale, and now that I have the whole junkpile organized, I'll be adding a BUNCH of new pics soon. PM or e-mail me if you're interested.
