I found them on tasca. The part numbers chris listed are right, but you have to take out the dashes to search. I did anyway and it worked fine. I found them. I haven't bought them and am not sure I will, I would like to do this, but over 200 to do it is a lot of coin, and my trucks perfomance is fine, my tick is the same as it was the day I bought it, and my tick does go away when the engine is revved above 1200 rpm.

Search the part numbers from the Home page on the site, do not select your vehicle. Then a list will come up with the search and you can find yours accordingly.

That's what we did, but a 2004 F150 isn't listed. I called and asked them about it, they said the part number matched my vin, so any of those solenoids should work. I cross referenced with fordparts.com and they call that solenoid a 6M280. I just orded mine, will let you all know how it works out.

Do you currently have the ticking problem and sounds like a diesel?

Let me know how that goes because its driving me crazy too and i'm trying to avoid a $1500 bill at the dealer. Tried to order a couple from tascaparts yesterday but they only had one left and I want to change both solenoids.

i unplugged both vct sensors on my truck, started the truck and the noise went away, i plugged them back in and the noise was back. I will be installing 2 new sensores. Thanks for saving me a ton of money i was gonna spend replacing exhaust manifolds and cam phasers..

So I read this post today at work and was excited all day to get home and unplug the sensors on my 04 f150 5.4 3v. My truck has 67,000 miles and it has that typical cam phaser knock. I was hoping that when I unplugged the sensors the noise would go away, giving me a indication of my problem. Well I unplugged the sensors and cranked up my truck and the noise was still there. No sound change at all, it still had the same knock. Also, it threw two codes, bank 1 and bank 2 cam positioning.

So what does this mean? Does this confirm that the sensors are working properly and my problem is the cam phaser itself?

Thank you all. I need some help with this one.

Andy
