I figured cables could be modified....but the ventilation means just air passing through from the cowl into the heater box out the defrosters/box. According to the manual i close the fresh air portion with seperate controls (which I have).. as oppose of leaving the "ventilation" air will continue to flow?....does that sound right?
I really am only familiar with Fresh Aire system on a 59.The person who really might have some better insight is Mr4speedford.When he checks back in,he'll notice the thread and will respond,no doubt.
I need one thing to make my defroster system work: vent tubing. I can't find ANYTHING that is the correct diameter, where can I go?
Morot,I'd think that any Napa could order the hose in the diameter you need.Measure the outlet on the heater. It seems to me I recall one member stating that he used a Dryer hose that was an exact fit.Not sure I'd feel comfortable with plastic hose in a heater system.
^I've been to every hardware and appliance store known to man and NOT A ONE had hosing that was the correct diameter. I need 2¼-2½, and the smallest I found was 3", but it was so heavy duty that it was just too heavy for my under-dash. I made custom output vents that come out of the heater box (heater is very old, and vintage, but it is not the original/factory)--they are mounted just enough to stay there, but the hosing was so heavy it was tearing them off.
I have the old hose that is perfect in lightness and strength, but it is maybe 2".
I am finding all kinds of hoses in the middle of what I need, but it's either too large or heavy....
