Valve adjustment
Valve adjustment
I remember a while back a thread discussing v. adjustment. I mentioned that I had tightened my rocker nuts 1/4 turn past zero lash. But in the book, someone mentioned, it says to adjust one full turn past z.l.
Well, today I wanted to ck the v. adjustment because I have heard some clicking lately. What I noticed was that after 1/2 turn past zero lash I can physically see the v. start to move. For some reason I've always assumed that a closed v. at tdc is a good valve. So I left them at 1/2 turn.
I'll see or hear in the morning how the lifters sound when I start it.

when you go 1/2 turn, you are pushing against the lifter. once started the lifter will compensate, and zero out putting the valve back where it belongs. I never had any luck going the full turn unless the engine is running while adjusting. seems once the valve opens a little bit it don't want to start
