starter engagement problem please help

i have 4 on it now. but it was hitting the exhaust manifold and burned through. i cut the burned stuff and spliced it back together with heavy guage crimps i have a new cable but havent installed it yet.

it was doing it before the wire burned though but i will change it out.

heat increases resistance in wiring which effects the current and voltage my old one i replaced was not long enough to go anywhere else except by the exhaust. make sure you have enough to go under and around away from the exhaust. i hope it helps i know how annoying it is when your truck eats starters for breakfast. i dropped my transmission and all before i replaced my cable.
