Textbook coolant flush...

Thanks to all who contribute to the tech folder, it was excellent guidance.

'05 F250, 68,000 mi, first flush.

Several months ago it threw the "wrench" for EOT/ECT differential towing heavy (10K#), no codes in normal driving, no coolant loss. The coolant was darker than new but no apparent oily content. I am hoping this will at least delay replacement of the oil cooler and EGR cooler.
 • 2 qts. VC-9
 • 30 gal distilled water - 4.5 gal/flush
 • dropped the driver side block plug and bottom rad. hose
 • removed the t'stat, (dealer gave me a new "o" ring too large)
 • 3.5 gal. Ford Premium Gold
I was fortunate not needing to remove the air filter or plenum, or force any other lines to get to the t'stat housing bolts. There must have been a modification... Pulled it right out, leaving the hose attached.

I did install a coolant filter while I was at it also.

Again, thanks for all the technical support!

How do I post pics? I have samples of all the flushes to post if I can figure out how to post them... Probably did not need the last flush, there was no significant difference in the last two.

How do I add an image to a post?
If you have uploaded an image as an attachment, you can click the arrow next to the 'Attachment Icon' and select it from the list. This will be inserted into your post and can be located where you want it displayed.
To include an image that is not uploaded as an attachment and is located on another website, you can do so by copying the full URL to the image, (not the page on which the image is located), and either pressing the 'Insert Image' icon or by typing after it, ensuring that you do not have any spaces before or after the URL of the image. You can insert pictures from your albums (?) in this way too.
