I do on mine! I think its well worth it when it comes to knowing exactly what is going on inside the engine that is very expensive to replace.
I understand the info you get back on oil samples,I am a Chiller tech for Trane by trade and do oil analysis yearly for copper plating and bearing wear. I am curious to your statement, how are you going to use this information to determine an overhaul? Just a generalized question, that would help the less educated in predictive maint. of our PSD's, and prevent complete failures.
Do you guy's pay the extra 10$ for the "TBN" testing at Blackstone or is it not necessary?

Wow! It's up to $10 now for the TBN from Blackstone? (Used to be $7 or something like that...)
It's $2 extra from ALS, they call it "base number" but it's the same thing. The 10 pack kit is $150 without and $170 with the base number so I spring the extra 2 bucks and splurge.
Oh, and I change my oil every 4-6K, Shell Rotella T. I had used Amsoil between 2 trucks of about 75K, truck 1 no prolems, truck 2 used 4-5 qts between oil changes, so I went back to Rotella, and now not a drop. well maybe a qt.
