Mine's a daily driver, and I go 5K on the oil and filter, 10K on the fuel filter, and 15K on the air filter. I do check the air and fuel filters at every oil change and drain the fuel bowl. My brother does a lot of heavy towing, so he operates on 3K intervals for oil, oil filter and fuel filter. He changes the air filter about every 10K...He's well over 400K miles on his truck, and just had to replace his original injectors. His truck runs like a top! It's bone stock!
It all depends if you drive alot in the city, or mostly highway.
This isthe oil change intervals I do in the fleet, mostly city
4k oil chnages and oil filter
Delivery truck 05 6.0 tow heavy most of the time

This just me, but I am **** about oil in a PSD. In other diesels that just use the oil for engine lubrication, I think 5000-7500 mile changes are fine. But, with the HEUI system, the oil is the life of the injectors also. Like I said, this just me, but I change my oil and filter every 3000-4000 miles. My truck is not a daily driver, and when I do drive it, it is usually towing heavy, so 3000 mile changes aren't really breaking the bank for me, and it gives me that warm fuzzy feeling inside
I shoot for the factory 3000-mile specified interval on my '96, which is dedicated to towing. I have observed that when the oil has 3000 miles or more on it, my engine takes a few extra revolutions before it starts, compared with when the oil is fresher. I assume it's the injectors liking fresh oil better than used.
