I built with comp 260h cam now reading not computer friendly will go to a mega squirt question is can stock set up be used for break in before messing with changes everything stock but cam
I built with comp 260h cam. Now reading not computer friendly. Will go to a mega squirt. Question is, can stock set up be used for break in before messing with changes? Everything stock but cam.
If that's the case, as long as your lifters are new (and everything assembled correctly), I don't see a problem. The break in on the cam is to get it spinning against the lifters, which is going to happen whether or not the computer is giving the engine the correct fuel mixture. The only issue I can see is that if the engine is running incorrectly, it may overheat due to the required RPM and duration.
Someone else may see other issues, but I don't see why you couldn't at least break it in.
I had a motor built with comp 260h cam kit at the advice of comp and builder only to now here that stock computer may not work. Called comp and tech said may or may not work. Question is will stock computer run well enough to break in cam. Would go with megasuirt after break in if have to.Any advice would be greatly appreciated.
"Question is will stock computer run well enough to break in cam." You will know the answer to that when you try it. Post the results so the rest of us will know too.
