parnelli jones dirt grips are about the only big tire that i can think of with an actual mileage guarantee, least i think they have one. either way i'd never buy them. if mileage is a concern don't even bother with mt's. just find the highest mileage rated at's you can find with the most "aggressive" pattern.
I can google these tires all day long and get a million different opinions. I was just hoping that someone on here may have had them at one point and could actually offer a useful opinion. I have 33" Pro Comp Xterrain tires on my Jeep that have served me well and I have 35" BFG KM1 tires on my 77 F150 that I've liked but they don't make them anymore. The Pro Comp radial M/T tires look like the old KM1 so that's why I'm asking.
I have BFG M/T KM1 on my 99 ford, and BFG M/T KM2 on my 94, and the KM2's blow the KM1's away for off road traction. I loved the KM1's when i got them, and was skeptical of the KM2 tread when i saw it but i had to have a set due to limited options.
I would recomend KM2 for any average offroader. Good wear thus far and silent on the road to.
Are you sure they don't make km1 ones anymore?
They still come stock on Jeep Wrangler Rubicons
They're still listed on BFG's website and I still see them for sale at different places????
I ran a set of the Pro Comp MT's on my 150 back before I did the SAS and 6" lift. They rode decent and I got more miles out of them then my brother with his BFG MT's. While there are not a super swamper, they got me where I needed to go in both mud and snow. Don't remember how many miles I put on them, but it was a bunch.
There were the Pro Comp Xtreme AT's. I got them for the load range and good bite in snow and ice for plow duty. Not because there were "Xtreme" in any real way. decent tires with 18" wheels are pricey as hell!
My old man has KM1's on his 2001 Super crew. Hes got 45k on his now. But they have less than a 1/4 tread to. There are deff down there, but not out. Hell probably run them till next winter. Probably end up with 55k on them and be completely shot.
I ran a set of 33/12.5.16.5 pro comp mt on my '79 f250 for almost 4 years it was my DD and hauled a race car trailer every weekend every summer and when i sold them to go bigger it almost didnt look like i used them at all. if i was going just for a mud tire i wouldnt go this route but I never got stuck when i get get my self in mud. they werent to bad of snow tires either
