what is the differnce in the HPOP's from 95 -2000
they all have the same bolt pattern plumbing and casting the only thing i see is the last 3 letters of the part #'s
i a nut shell will a HPOP from a 2000 7.3 DIT work on a 95 7.3 DIT

No it will not work94.5 and 95 have a check valve in a different place than the 96 to 03.
Now you can send both pumps to Joey http://terminatorengineering.com/ and have the gutts from the 95 put in the newer one
It will supply moe oil to your injectors and fire them better

Your oil pump is a 15* and the SD pump is a 17*.
Like said above, you can't just pull yours and drop in the newer one. It will cause problems. You can however put all the internals of the newer pump inside your housing and put yours back in.
It's relatively inexpensive. Call or Email Joey @ Terminator Engineering and ask him your question. Terminator Engineering

There is a drainback issue with the earlier trucks which makes you have to keep the housing original HPOP housing.

94 and most 95 models have the anti drainback check valve in the HPOP itself, The IPR is also different slightly and not interchangeable. 96 model and up pumps do not have the anti drainback valve, a couple difference versions of the edge filter and use a redesigned front timing cover to control the oil draining out of the HPOP reservoir when the engine is shut off.
You can put the timing cover from a 97 on your 94 and then use the newer HPOP. There is a mod for your timing cover too but I would recommend changing it before doing that. 97 timing covers are better than 94's in more ways than one. The oil cooler flange is also redesigned and is much less prone to cracking as I recently found out. To do the swap you also need the oil pan and oil pump pickup tube from a 97 as the pickup tube is on the opposite side from a 94.

I have a 1997 f250 7.3 power stroke with a 1995 7.3 power stroke engine out of a van.
I am taking the 1995 engine out and putting the 97 back in. My question is, does the high pressure oil pump off the 95 fit on the 97? I know that a 97 pump will not work on a 95 engine due to the lack of the check valve; however, would the 95 pump work on a 97 engine? Would it work just fine with double check valves or would it restrict the flow or something?
Is there anything anything else that is not interchangeable between the 95 and 97 engine?
Thanks in advance!!

In 96 they integrated a stand pipe that goes up to the top of the hpo reservoir and then drains down by the top of the gear and 95 it would just go straight from the pump threw the front cover and drain in by the gear
