2001 F550 7.3L No throttle response.. Help Pls!!!!
I'm working on a 2001 F550 7.3L DIT. The engine starts and runs fine, but there is absolutely no throttle response! ALL the guages don't work, except the hazard lights. NO SPEEDO, NO TACH, NO FUEL, NO WARNING LIGHTS, NOTHING. Vehicle will move under idle. Pulled codes P0381 (Glow plug circuit malfunction), P0221 (Throttle switch "B" Range/Performance), P1139 (Water in Fuel Circuit Malfunction). Not sure if they are related to the inop instrument cluster, but that is what came up. Any ideas? This is really weird. Fuses look ok. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks in advance.

P0221 is your problem. it is the Throttle Position Sensor (TPS) that is gone. these fail quite commonly, and the fix is a new throttle pedal assy

The problem is back with a vengeance!!!!
Well......I spoke too soon! The damn thing blew the fuse again today and stranded one of my drivers in the middle of an intersection, so you can see why I'm a little bummed out. Now, however, the fuse blows every time I replace it! Anybody have any ideas? I think the GEM module, overdrive cancel switch, instrument cluster idle validation switch and Auxiliary powertrain control module are on the same circuit. Guess I'll just start trying to isolate them. Thanks for any help...

Okay, well you know why the throttle wouldn't work - now you have to find out why it is blowing fuses.
Sorry to say, the first was easy, but the second can be very, very difficult and tedious. I wish I had a suggestion -
Well, only one - my blown fuse happened because I pulled one of my aftermarket gauges out to replace a bulb. Somewhere there is a bare wire (or two) that grounded (or shorted) and popped my fuse. I know where to look - that is what holiday weekends are for, right?
Do you have any new gauges, or have you done any wiring work under the dash? That is where I would start. Other than that, a methodical check (with multimeter in hand) of all potential wiring.
I'd rather go to the dentist.
