Question The rear view camera setup

Hello,
I have a question please. I’m about to order a new Ford truck. I’m getting a F-450 diesel engine, long bed, dual wheel 4x4 in the Lariat F-X series. Along with my truck is the rear view camera when backing up. This is such a great idea. Only problem is that I’m also getting an Arctic Fox 1150 slide in camper too. So the camera well be no longer in use once the tail gate is removed and the camper put on. Is there a way to attach the camera to the back of the camper so I still can use it? Or perhaps keeping the camera on the tailgate and getting a separate camera to plug into the wiring when the tailgate is not in use??

Thank you very much,
Tom <O

Good question Tom. You may also want to post the same question in our Towing, Trailers & Fifth Wheels forum here:

Towing, Trailers & 5th Wheels - Ford Truck Enthusiasts Forums

There are a lot of the folks on here that use slide-in campers and they post in that forum as well. There may be someone there that can answer this for you as well.

And again, welcome to FTE!

Thank you John for your warm welcome. I will go to the link that you have suggested. This may be asking too much...Is there also a place here at this site where they talk about certain manufactures of slide in campers?
Thanks,
Tom

The main section for any talk of campers is going to be in the trailer towing forum that I linked above.

Welcome Tom!
I am in the middle of doing this myself, but will not be using the mirror camera. I am installing a reverse camera and aftermarket monitor. The way mine is going to connect, I will be able to have the cam default to the reverse camera, but when connected to a trailer it will switch over to the trailer mounted cam.

I would also think that an aftermarket camera with a larger monitor will be your best option.
