Hello ,
I purchased a 2011 F350 PSD Lariat today loaded with what I would say every option with the exception of the Snowplow Prep Package , it is not clear to me what this package is . It is listed for $85 and I read computer rated springs. I have a new Fisher Plow 8 FT HD I will have them install which they say will not be a problem but I figured someone would have some experiance here. It has the 11500#GVWR Package and the front end is rated for 5600. I appreciate any help.
Thanks mr176 , yes that seems to be the extent of the snowplow prep package , it does have the heavy duty Alt. but springs are rated 5600 , Fisher also says no problem , I will try it , I can always change the springs.

IMO if this is a Fisher dealer telling you this, I would find a different dealer. They are obviously not listening their own company. According to Fisher's website, with a 5600 axle, they will only support their 7'6" SD or HD blades in a short bed. Going to the long bed, you are limited to the SD version. Go to www.fisherplows.com and use the eMatch tool to select your truck setup. If you the select the 6000 axle you can basically run any of the larger plows like the V up to the largest 9'6" sizes. There isn't a big difference in length between the 7'6" and 8' in length, but ther weight is 87 pounds different. You may want to find out from Fisher why they won't support the 8' plow.
Also, you should be fine with the heavy duty alternator, but if you elect to go with an electric salt spreader and add a bunch of external lights, you will be happier if you went with the dual alternators.
