I'm not sure about the west coast, but we have over 300,000 in the water world wide. We have about 400 off the coast of Sarasota, and its about all I see when I dive. not much here but a sandy bottom. The east coast Of Florida has more reefs, and more to see.
Its the best hobby I ever picked up.

Yea me too, never seen any on the north part of coast but I am hopefully going to San Diego next month to dive the Yukon its a ship they sunk a few years ago maybe I'll see some down there.
I'm still waiting to my first wreck dive. I want to dive the Vandenburg in the keys. The deck is at 60 ft , the hull is at 140. I'm ready to do it.
There are some army tanks in the gulf that I dive on, but nothing exciting.

Wow army tanks would be cool to see. My wife and I dove a small submarine in St Marteen it was cool you could swim through one end to the other. If I make it to the keys some time soon I'll look you up.

They are a interesting dive.
It beats looking at sand... IIRC they are at 65-70 ft. And of course I never took any pics.....
There is a whole row of sunken ships in the keys to dive. The vandenburg is the most recenty sunk ship. Its 522 ft long.

I said the same thing about Florida when I was sitting in Ohio waiting for my $400 natural gas bill to come in the mail.
