I'm(hopefully) installing a 351 windsor from a 88 truck in my 91 f150 4x4, I want to use a aod tranny, from a 82 truck, will it bolt up to my transfer case? from the pictures I've seen it looks like I have a bw 1345. I want to get rid of the 302 and e40d and go with a carburated engine. I guess if I can't use the same transfer case I'll try to add a few goddies to the 302, but I've added underdrive pulleys, mac shorty headers and k&n filter and flow master cat back exhaust and I don't notice any improvement at all, dang it anyway, I need some more pulling power
I was given information by a transmission remanufacturer that the output shaft for the E4OD 4WD is much larger than the output shaft for the AOD 4WD, therfore the AOD wont mate to the BW1356. in place of the E4OD........
He was wrong. You could have done it with no problem. I've had a 1356 from an AOD sitting in my junkpile right beside one from an E4OD, and they're identical (at the mounting surface). You can see them here.
