i ve seen this before, but cant remember the cause. headlights come on, but not the running or dash lights. playing with the switch gets the running and dash lights on, but not the headlights. i remember it being something simple, but not the switch. or am i wrong and it is the switch?
of corse i got outside to look at it and all is fine. i tilted the wheel from one end to the other, turned the headlight switch off and on a hundred times, turned the wheel etc... not a blink. is there something iam missing like a relay.
get your gun and look under the seat for gremlins. I HATE it when this stuff happens.
Do you have a bunch of gauges in the truck by any chance on a pillar pod? I ran one of the screws holding it on once through the hot wire to the clearance lights. It shorted all of the running and dash lights.
Not sure if that helps.
is the switch still in the other dash you got? If you have it i would try swaping them and see what happens
i do plan on replacing the switch just to be safe, the switch that came with the 92 was definitly bad. i gaurrentee if i leave a bar at night.itll act up

no pillar pod and my roof lights are factory run on the passenger side. i still wanna look for a short and see if maybe it is a breaker resetting, i do have alot of lights
i just went back out and messed with it again. actimg up! the only thing that seems to make a difference is playing with the switch. i dont think that our trucks have any lighting relays, do they? does all the power run through the light switch. it seems like the running light contacts are burned. when i swap it out, ill open it and let yall know what i see.
sounds like the contacts are bad same problems for mine as well. i have a spare one that i am putting in to fix that problem. also why not do the headlight mod while you are at it
