cant remember...

i ve seen this before, but cant remember the cause. headlights come on, but not the running or dash lights. playing with the switch gets the running and dash lights on, but not the headlights. i remember it being something simple, but not the switch. or am i wrong and it is the switch?

If you have a tilt wheel , it may be a broken wire in the column leading to the MFS..

get your gun and look under the seat for gremlins. I HATE it when this stuff happens.
Do you have a bunch of gauges in the truck by any chance on a pillar pod? I ran one of the screws holding it on once through the hot wire to the clearance lights. It shorted all of the running and dash lights.
Not sure if that helps.

The main light switch (IIRC) has a breaker in it , a short will usually make it flash ...A break in a wire can be yup or nope...

i just went back out and messed with it again. actimg up! the only thing that seems to make a difference is playing with the switch. i dont think that our trucks have any lighting relays, do they? does all the power run through the light switch. it seems like the running light contacts are burned. when i swap it out, ill open it and let yall know what i see.
