Well you have to remove the following to do it:
1 front bumper
2 rock gaurd ( part just behind bumper)
3 grill shell and hood latch
4 both fenders
After those are out of the way then you can remove the radiator support, however you may want to remove the hood to reduce the weight on the inner fenders cuz the inner fenders are bolted to the support. That's how I did it.
I had no problem leaving the hood on. I did remove the battery thou.
I used a 1975 in my 71 and had to make a couple new holes for the hood latch which is ez to do with a dremel cut wheel if you can't find the same yr support replacement part. You'll need a drill some small holes make them square latch bolts. There is a difference in radiator size openings with engine size so get the one for your size of engine. But the smaller opening can be cut wider for your radiator size if you get the wrong one..my 2cents

+1 on removing the battery, also another tip, there are bolts at the top outer ends of the grill shell that I had to use a universal joint on the end of a long extension for the ratchet, cant get a wrench in there.
