77 F250 Radiator Core support removal?
Hey, need feedback on removing the radiator core support. I'm replacing these core support with new ones I can't remove one's on the truck. The bolt is out and so are the shimes. This is the radiator core support with rubber donut on both ends and a nut on the bottom. They are rusted together and when I turn the nut the top place turns also. Any tips would be appreciated. Thanks

U have to cut them off. DO NOT USE A TORCH if you like the hair on your arms. I did that and it was pretty wild. The rubber burns like hell fire. 2nd truck I did it to, I cut through the top bushing, and used an air chisle and a big hammer to knock them out through the hole. Its a pain in the butt good luck.

yep, its pressed together when the bolt is tightened down. On top of that they are probly fused together by the rust. Good thing is you can buy new ones. Good luck man

I cut mine out with my grinder. The guys are right...it's a pain in the butt, but that's what you have to do. It only took me about 30 minutes total, but I had to be very careful not to hit the radiator or cut into the frame.
FYI- I cut a piece of 2X4 slightly smaller than the inside frame width, then let the radiator sit on it so I didn't have to drain/remove the radiator to get the front end off.

A word of advice on the saws-all, As the rubber gets warmer from the blade cutting through it, it will get gummy and eventually clamp down on the blade and bend it. Been there done that too. Mr bowtie Schmowtie (haha nice name) is right in that a grinder or cut off wheel works best. But if you need an excuse to buy a new saw, just for your old lady, tell her you need one ASAP! Because they come in really handy when you least expect it. Anyway, just grind the top metal peice off of the rubber bushing, then if my memory is correct you can beat it apart from there.
