Hi eveyrone, I have a question about my turbo on my 04 6.0l 4x4. How long does it take before you start to hear your turbo at first start up? I think I may have a prob because im not hearing it until truck goes into high idle and still the turbo sounds muffled... Thanks for any info. Mark,
I very rarely hear my turbo. Only when I really start to get into it. Or don't get the passenger side door closed. And even then I've never heard it at idle.
I would check the EBP tube for restriction on the P0472 code. And then like Steve said, see how well the turbo works while driving. If it's slow to make boost, or overboosts, there might be a problem.

I think it comes off the drivers side manifold.
On a different thought. Would it be better to connect that sensor to the y-pipe? I feel that it would give a better and much more consistent reading.
I don't think it would be a good idea to change the place where the EBP tube connects. You may get a more accurate reading, but it may not be what the computer expects and unforeseen things may happen.

Its good to know I am not the only one that doesn't hear their turbo. I have heard other 6.0ls turbos when they have been around me and often wondered why I do not hear mine. Mine is the only 6.0l I have ever driven so maybe I need to go for a ride or drive another one just to see how mine is performing?
The turbo sound is a lot more noticeable from the outside of the truck. That's why I can hear mine when the passenger door isn't fully closed. The trucks insulation is blocking the sound. It'll also sound louder if you've deleted the cat and/or the muffler. I've also heard that '03 turbo's are louder.

Just got in from a test drive after cleaning EBP tube and installing brand new EBP Sensor, No Differance I can say my turbo has been alot loader in the past and performance is down. But on another note over the weekend I installed the blue Fuel spring upgrade and cant say that the truck has performed that well ever since.
