I have a 07 F150 4x4 reg cab 126 inch wheel base with trailer towing package and 3.73 gears.I am looking at purchasing 2011 surveyor sv305 TT which is about 35 feet long and dry weight is about 7700.My question is will my truck pull this trailer without issues.any and all comments or suggestions are appreciated.P.S. I wont be towing this long distances for now anyway, maybe later depending on how hard it is on my truck.Anything else I should need or get to tow as I am green as green comes when it comes to towing

Welcome to FTE.

So dry weight is 7700lbs right? What about with your gear, water in the tanks (roughly 8lbs per gallon), etc all packed into it? Probably closer to 8500-9000lbs? You're getting into the upper limits of what you can safely tow with the F150.
You also need to look at what the tongue weight is going to be and factor that into your payload capacity, assuming you'll have family and gear in the truck also.

If you're getting up near 9000lbs and plan on towing often, then stepping up to a F250 (more payload, high towing, bigger brakes, etc) might be the best bet, because honestly, who wants a smaller TT?

Thanks for the repy. There will be only 2 of us and 2 lap dogs travelling and right now i dont think we will travel all that great a distance at least for now as we will be using the TT for our home while or house is being built. So maybe next year we will do a little bit of traveling but not long distance until we retire hopefully by spring 2013.At that time I may look into upgrading the truck to F250 so we wont have any problems towing.Again thanks for the quick reply

Don, That's a long trailer for a short tow vehicle. Be sure to get a good load leveler hitch and sway control. Reese Dual Cam, Equalizer or even a Hensley. You do not want the tail to wag the dog. I'd also keep an eye on the tranny temps. A guage may be a good idea. Towing up a hill in second gear really heats up the tranny. www.rv.net/forums is a good resource also. Oh and I also hope you have the 5.4L engine.
