78 bronco 4x4 mud/trail project

ok I know its been a while but heres what im going to pick up for sure
1978 bronco
351m
c-6
d44 front
9 inch rear

I wanna do a trail/mud truck. For The mods i was thinkin
chromally shafts in the d44
rebuild both axles
all new brakes
fix any rusty floors/fenders
lizard skin the underside and floors
box in, and paint or lizard skin the frame
4 inch suspension lift
35s
beefy bumpers pics and plans welcome
locker in the rear
Any suggestions welcome especially for the motor.
1 wire alternator or 3g?
When i pick it up i will post pics. I mostly want to get parts lists goin.
btw 500 for a running driving 1978 bronco in northern mn screaming deal!!!!!! Just wait till u see the pics. The top is good and the back window works like a charm, all though the front axle needs a rebuild though thats all thats wrong with it!

Share Pics of your 78-79 bronco!

If its $500 the first thing I'd do is a complete and full all around tune up on everything. Grease every zerk fitting you can find and change all the fluids.

I like broncos, 33-35'' tires fit very nicely on them.

4" deaver superflex coils from BGY, radius arm drop brackets, chromo steering links and trac bar, 4" drop pitman and drop trac bar bracket.... HP KP D60 up front, sterling 10.25 out back under a SKY manufacturing rear shackle flip for ~ 4" lift in the back.

Mild 460 into stock c6 with ~2-2.5k (Kris?) stall, np205..

39.5" boggers, cut fenders

custom paint lol

Think that's about it. Obviously got a roll cage in it. Ask if there's anything else you're wondering about.

You must have done the coil spring on the front. I was figuring I'd just do leafs when I did the d60 conversion. Half ton should be plenty good for me with chromally shafts though. How's my setup sound pretty stout for mild off roader?

Yeah, you should be fine for a mild trail/mud truck as long as you don't lock the front and stay away from the rocks with 35's. Any bigger tire or any traction adder in the front and you'll probably start to see problems.

I don't care for competition stuff or big group rides. I am in Hibbing which has all sorts of mines around it. Red mud haha. Just me and some buddies hit the pond and coffee grounds. I will put up picks in spring.
