New Bronco problems

Ok, I will check into that stuff. How do you check to see if the fuses are bad? The fuses that the owners manual lists as being for the tailgate window are those metal ones that you can't see in to. The picture of that striker bolt was too small for me to be able to see anything on. Thanks for the advice.

The metal ones aren't fuses, they're circuit breakers. They're supposed to reset themselves. To test a fuse or CB, test for resistance across them (should be 0), or for continuity, or test voltage across them with the key on (should be 0), or put one side on a battery terminal, the other to one side of a test light, and the other end of the test light on the other battery terminal (test light should come on). You can also buy battery-powered fuse testers at Wal-Mart or any parts store.

If I manage to get the motor to work and get the motor down, when I shift the strike bolt on the drivers side do I need to adjust the strike bolt on the other side to make them even or will it not cause a problem?

It's a good idea to check the alignment at both bolts, but the safety interlock switch is only on the L side.

If the motor turns out to be the problem, forget the strike bolt.
