I am just starting to roll the ball on writing a blog, I mostly have been just thinking about it, and asking friends what they know about starting one. Last night I had a small breakthrough and found a website that rates host sites according to user friendly, and support. The one I am looking at is about $2.99 per month, and includes a domain. I figure I can start there. There are cheaper ones out there, but I have determined that's a price I can live with. I came up with an awesome domain, only to find out someone else is using it for something completely unrelated to the domain.
I need to just dive in and start, and I hope this research that I am doing will hopefully pay off in the long run.
Good luck on the blog, be sure to send us a link when you get it up and going!
Since I had some extra spending cash from selling the YJ I decided to jump in and finish the basement's surround sound system. Already had the receiver purchased (1000 watt Yamaha) so I went ahead and bought 7 Infinity 6.5" in-wall\ceiling speakers, 10" Polk Subwoofer, 92" STR screen, and all the wiring to make a complete Dolby 7.1 setup. I should be right under $1k for the whole setup (minus projector, already had one) so I'm hoping that I've built the perfect budget system.
Everything should be to the house by Friday night so I have a nice project for the rare weekend that we're actually home
Lets see car/truck themed movies? Bullit- Gone in 60 seconds- Take this job and shove it-- Cannonball Run 1 and 2-- Days of thunder- Used cars- Cars 1 and 2- Mad Max 1-2-3-4- That movie with Dax that I always have to ask Garret about but can never remember the name :-)
Yeah, I could just never get into some of those. I don't know why, maybe same reason I don't like video games? I know that probably doesn't make much sense.
I am hooked on roadkill garage though.. Thanks for that!

No problem! Don't forget to check out the regular "Roadkill" show too along with "Roadkill Garage", my single most favorite show of all time
I even got to meet Freiburger and Finnegan in person last year with my VIP pass at the Roadkill Drags, right before drag racing the Denali on the Kansas Speedway. Coolest day ever
An oldie but goody is "It's a Mad, Mad, Mad, Mad World and Scavanger Hunt. It includes many comedians from the 50s and early 60s. I enjoy it for the great footage of late 40s to early 60s cars. On top of that it is funny. It was remade in 2001 as Rat Race. Both are a hoot.
I ended up ordering pre made cables and ran them Sunday. Wooooo hoooo! I have all channels on all the TV's.
I have been thinking about getting a web site again. Seems to be information about getting away from the free e-mail accounts and all the spam and tracking stuff. I was thinking this might be a good time to set something up for the 2018 Hole In The Rock Trip. I just need to get with folks and gather information and set it up. Outlaw runs all his e-mail through his web site. Sundance and him use Firefox instead of the Internet Explorer that I am using. I don't know how long it will take me to get it all figured out and up and running. Hope to have it going by September.
Well after checking it seems the low prices I found were for a 3 year deal on the web site. Gets me 2 years free domain name and 1 year e-mail. So I pulled the pin setting around the house today and made a bit of a start on it. I still need to do the e-mail and get that changed on the site. And add a bunch more information. it is at www.happyjackstrails.com Any suggestions would be helpful. It even has a blog section so everyone can ask questions and make suggestions on the site.
That's a really nice start Jack! I look forward to reading that! I believe I will try to join you for that last section of hole in the rock. I want to complete it as well. I can't do it this year but perhaps next year.
