i know the autozone aluminum radiator remakes, most come with the clamped plastic tanks..the radiator i purchased was completely aluminum hence me saying "welded". It looks no different than an aftermarket racing radiator just a LOT larger. Also I was meaning that the replacement radiators for OUR trucks were coming in VDP solid aluminum....haven't checked for other make, models.
been told by many that copper/brass has a better heat exchange than aluminum..... the autozone site list it as copper/brass. hopefully its not deceiving
Actually It is the other way around aluminum has better heat transfer characteristics than copper or brass that is why it gets used for electronic heat sinks also with the aluminum radiator you should not use any thing but distilled water and antifreeze that won't react with the aluminum in the radiator

I have to disagree with you here on both points. Aluminum is used because it is CHEAPER than copper and brass (contains copper). Heat sinks used in computer equipment are mostly aluminum or copper-cored because of the cost. If you buy any high performance CPU cooler, it is made of solid copper; same goes for water blocks.
Secondly, aluminum does corrode. Granted, not as quickly as copper but it can still fail due to corrosion. I would prefer a copper radiator over aluminum any day.
