no hot air
hey everyone my question is i have a 2000 f150 and just had my heater core replaced about 30 days ago and now on my defrost i dont have hot air. sometimes i do, but lately i dont. does anybody have any ideas on what it could be?

if you dont have hot air on defrost, then you dont have hot air no floor vents either. the hot air is controlled by a mixing door that combines hot fromt eh heater with cool outside air to get the right temp. Now if you ALWAYS have defrost and cant direct the heat to the floor vents thats another problem.... assuming you dont have hot air, then blend door or actuator was broken during the heater core install..

My neighbor thought he'd try to save himself some money and did his heater core in his 97 F150 himself. He did save some money but he has heat all of the time. I don't think he got the blend door, and actuator lined up correctly. It would take removing the dash completely to fix, think it's gonna be a "Wait till Spring" thing....
If sometimes you have heat, and not at other times, I'd have to check the coolant level.... Could be low.
