"Toilets" one "steps into" to use...
The "garbage can" in the 1st pic is where one is supposed to deposit their used toilet paper.
The bin in the bottom-front LH corner of the second generally contains items that can be used as toilet paper.
The three objects on the sides of the bottom pic supply water when the thing is "flushed."
Both pix taken in Vilnius, Lithuania in 1999.
Gives new meaning to the term "hole in the ground."

That's how the Japanese do it too. Just squat and go. Nasty. Thank god we're lazy, out of shape and can sit down.
I'll never understand why some places are still in the stone age. I mean, even an outhouse is a better idea.

ctubutis, that my friend, is a nice hole.
My dad was stationed in Turkey when he was in the Air Force ('74-'78) from '76-'78 and out there they only have a dug hole in the dirt. They have no toilet paper. You clean your bottom with water.
