on the drivers side valve cover theres a box with 2 screws in it .is there a filter of some sort under there?if so how often does it need to be replaced?anybody have a part # for it?and whats it for?thanks
That's the "Crank Case Vent" (More info click here) and lets the pressure/gas from the heads re-circ through the intake. Some re-route them to vent to atmosphere (so there is one less restrictive piece in the intake) and some leave it stock because it stinks something fierce.. (just put mine back to stock)
There's really no need to replace it, unless it's destroyed... it's more of a screen than a filter. Can clean it out with parts cleaner or brakeclean or something, let it dry out good and bolt it back on. May want to replace the O-rings also
thanks for the info rob yeah im pretty sure it needs a good cleaning probably never been done.your truck looks good in your pic,is that green grass in the back round?????wow thats a rare site for being in ma after the winter you guys have been having!!!!

Glad I could help out
Thanks for the compliment on the truck, she looks better in pics than in real life to be honest...
That pic is from back in the summer, when the truck was all shined up and looking good. If I took the pic now it would look 'white' from all the crap and salt on the roads...
