C4 filter change question

C4 filter change question
On a C4 there's a spring held in a hole in the valve body by a tab on the filter. There's a valve that goes on the spring... anyone know which end of the spring it goes on?

I think it's called the "throttle pressure limit valve" ... here's a

It looked like a small bolt without threads and the head was hollowed out.
