c6 tranny leak

My c6 tranny is leaking from the filler tube does anyone know if I have to drain the ATF to change the o-ring ?

If you pull the tube without draining it, It will pretty much drain itself down to the level of where the dipstick tube fits. Might be kinda messy but if your fluid is in good shape, it will save you a few $ by not having to buy all new fluid. You'll just have to replace what drained out. Just make sure you put a drain pan under it BEFORE you pull the tube and clean the area around where the tube fits in good, before you remove the tube; to prevent any dirt from getting inside the tranny.
