Okay, time to rebuild the tired old 302 in my grandpa's '91 F250. He wont let me do a stroker like I did with my truck, and he wants to stick with the 302. Just a plain rebuild with more towing grunt. I've got it all planned except the cam. My choices are of the following "computer" friendly cams:
Crower Comp-pro 204/210 duration, 0.459/.464 lift
Ford Racing 204/210 duration, 0.448/0.472 lift
Crane PowerMax 204/216 duration, 0.456/0.484 lift
Any thoughts or comments welcome. The truck has 4.10s and a granny 4spd tranny. I'm hoping to get him to upgrade exhaust to duals, but not much luck so far.
I have the comp cam 31-255-5 cam in mine and it runs great. I beleive its 206/212 duration and 462/474 lift. Plenty of power though across the rpm's, especially over 2500.
i have a ford racing cam in a 302 in my 78 swb 1/2ton. its pn is a311 and the specs match the specs that you have listed. it works very well and idles well and works well with power brakes and other vacuum accessories as well as a/c. great torque down low with good midrange to about 4800 rpm.
Thanks for the replys guys! I think I will go with the Crane. I've talked to a bunch of guys on another site and they like the extra duration on the exhaust side.
