351M - Is there any point in going 4 barrel with my setup? Specs inside!

Hey guys,

I have a stock rebuild 351M and the 2V carb is causing me problems. Would I be getting much more power if I went with a 4V edelbrock carb/manifold setup with my engine? Looking for more power, but not wanting to just pour gas down the drain though either! Thanks!

Dual exhaust, Hedman long-tube headers, MSD ignition & coil.

Cam specs:CS1161R

Sure , Get a 600 cfm carb, you will have some more power, you will even have better millage since the 2 primary barrels are only 300 cfm in most 600 carbs and the stock carb is 375 cfm.

Any idea on Hp increase?? Is the cam holding me back??

If I built the engine with the cam installed at 0 degrees instead of retarded 8 degrees like factory, what do I need to do to compensate? If anything?

Thanks!

I would say total of 25-30 hp with that setup. Motor is around 149hp stock. The stock carb is most likely a 1.21 or 351cfm rating, but those annular boosters take up a lot of space.
