Welcome and seriously, great first post...you will fit in at this site, check out the "sidearm damages my leather seats" thread...there are some serious gun owners here
title of thread- Anti theft device- I guess that means gun, or big *** gun. Seriously, if some idiot is jackin your truck, who has the bigger gun? I spent 6 week's in Texas on a training course , My instructors 1st words. "this is Texas, a concealed state. That means his gun is bigger than yours." holy crap, being from Canada, that meant something. Anyhow, my truck is insured, I will trust the factory system, & if its defeated, I'll bitch alot, & get on with it. .

Reason: just rambling on too much
Thanks, I use to be a Chevy fan, but since they went out of business, I converted to a Ford. I will NEVER purchase a Govermental Motors (GM) vehicle. I now drive a 2011 Lariot FX4 6.7 Diesel with 6" Pro Comp Supension lift with 37" Nitto Tires and it is by far the best vehicle I have ever owned. Found a lot of useful information on this site and look forward putting my 2 cents in where I can. Thanks again for the friendly welcome.
BTW, I was actually reading this trend to find what Anti-Theft system others were using and what they thought about them. I am is the process of purchasing one myself. One that actually works and still have the auto start capability. Preventing thefts will also prevent insurance hikes. But I seriously want GPS trackability from my phone in real time.
You would think someone would have a system out there that works off a shock sensor that would send you a text message/call to your cell phone (who nowdays don't carry a cell) notifying you that your vehicle is being violated. Then you could hurry out to your truck and shoot the punks, since everyone should have a CHL and this would prevent it from happening to someone else. If they did get away, this same system allowed you to track you vehicle through a GPS signal, (again from your smart phone) so you could follow them and then shoot them. I HATE THIEVES!!!!!!
Viper alarm systems has this as an option, well the first part. You can control your alarm and be notified of a potential break in via your smart phone. The only problem is that you have to pay a monthly fee for it.

The tracking piece can't be far off, if someone nabs my iPhone I can track it to within 3' using the built-in GPS chip in reverse...pretty slick, these rigs are a lot logger than 3' ha!
Check out what the high-end car owners employ in Johannesburg South Africa for anti-theft....50k volts to the door handle, on board propane for a flame thrower from beneath. These cats don't mess around.

I wish we could do that without ending up in jail. How do you track your iPhone?

The service is through Apple and their "enterprise"/cloud service, MobileMe. You can enable the feature in the settings menu on your device, then download the free app to another iPhone and track on the go, or search from your computer via the MobileMe web portal. It works exceptionally well. I've used it a few times to find my wifes phone sitting on a server station at the capital grille after she left it on the table when we left ha ha!

Thanks for the info. We are always looking for my wife's' phone.
I just had my 4th Ravelco installed. This is my 2nd 2015 F-250. The first one I purchased, I was told by the dealer that I no longer needed a Ravelco or any other protection. Bull S***! They stole my first truck in 3 weeks. Last night they tried to steal my new one but like before the Ravelco saved it. Make sure you have them put the windows stickers on. I had my new truck's windows tinted and the Ravelco stickers were removed. I was told by a police officer that the thieves know Ravelco and will not bother a vehicle with the stickers on. I wonder if next time I can just purchase the stickers! Ha Ha
