My light bulb just went out. I'm thinking about replacing it with either HID or LED lights. I don't know much about them but I was wondering if any of you had experience with either, and if so, which one of this two would you recommend?

I went the hid route for while. The lights were definitely brighter, especially on low beams. When switched to high, the light spread pattern went from good to poor. Maybe it was the ddm tuning brand? The lights actually move when switched to high beams by means of an electromagnet, they do change to high, but poor spread down the road.
So, after leaving them in long enough to keep the wife from nagging me for wasting money, I have since switched back to oem halogens. Improved high beam driving, but lost the cool low beams. Perhaps LEDs are better?
Last night I experienced an F250 with HID lights coming toward me. He had fixed his lighting issue but caused one for me. Driving around with his OEM bright lights on would have been a cheaper solution for this guy. Could have been a simple problem of aim but that's my biggest concern with changing head lights. Am I fixing my issue but causing issues for everyone else. I also wonder about the quality of some of the systems I've seen here.
I'm using a kit off of amazon (Kensun?) at 6K and have no issues. The high does sort of suck, but the lows are so good I rarely use the high beams anyway.
I rarely get flashed, and if I do it's usually from someone with a few decades on me in a smaller vehicle. Everyone else just holds their hands up to shield their eyes from the mirror reflection while I'm behind them...then they move out of my way 1st chance they get
